Freshive Spring 2012 on Hypebeast

New from Freshjive comes a look at the 21 year-old West Coast brand’s “Less Than Zero” collection. Obviously inspired by the cocaine-charged, morally vacant and insidiously good-looking characters of Bret Easton Ellis’ seminal work of California nihilism, the lookbook does a nice job of encapsulating the aesthetic of 1980s L.A. without going overboard on the colors and prints. Updated, of course, with more modern fits and on-trend details, Freshjive’s “Less Than Zero” line is sure to be a hit for literarily-inclined streetwear fans. Rick Klotz on Complex

“There is no common thread that connects Freshjive and Warriors of Radness—they’re each part of my schizophrenic personality. Each one represents a different person in my psyche.
I started Freshjive in 1989, and I consider it an amalgamation of 21 years of experiment and experience that came to express itself as a neurotic addiction, but it’s mainly a hateful disdain for bamboozling commercialism.
Warriors of Radness is my straight-up Southern California fun, sun, beer, good times, surf, beach, women-chasing, brash-branded label."

Urbanears Fall 2011

What would life be like without color? Very boring, no doubt. Which is why here at Urbanears we’re on a mission to bring you headphones in an array of different colors. And with so many colors to choose from, we certainly have our hands full. With this in mind we are introducing three new colors to the 2011 Fall/Winter Urbanears collection—Mustard, Raspberry and Indigo.

Mad Decent Block Party NYC

This past weekend we kicked off the Native Mad Decent Block Party tour in NYC to mob of over 8,000 people on the water at the South Street Sea Port in Manhattan! With an expected attendance of only 5,000, things got absolutely crazy when the venue was filled over capacity! In our public gifting tent throughout the day we gave out Native branded sunglasses, key chains, pins, and stickers. VIP's were treated to the same items in the back stage gifting area. It was an amazing show that brought together thousands of existing and new fans, and massively built our brand awareness here in NYC. The Block Party was in the top five trending topics on Twitter for the day in NYC, pictures and videos are coving the internet, and the feedback from people on the street to high end VIP's has all been so positive.

Prior to the block party we did an in-store event on Friday in our Lower East Side Pop-Up Shop at The Hole Gallery. We paired Native Shoes with sculptures by Friends With You, gifted 100 shoes, brought in local DJ's, served drinks, and had the opportunity to drive sales & attention to our shop and talk to people in a more mellow environment before the block party. The turnout was great, the audience was beautiful, the vibe was perfect, and the shoes looked amazing in the gallery! What a fun time.
